Today I finally got to check out the Strangler Fig (Ficus aurea) by the Estacion. Here is the inside of the tree, where the host tree that the hemiepiphytic fig “strangled” withered away, leaving a hollow passage for curious humans.

The emergence point is just incredible - 60 feet above a waterfall, not quite at the canopy but high enough that it’s just a bit nauseating.Beautiful experience.
